Many characters from the Thor comics never made it (and probably never will) to the big screen. So at least the movies can pay homage to the comics by hiding easter eggs and references to them in the background.
That’s the case with Beta Ray Bill. one of the only characters in the Marvel comics to lift Mjolnir, and one of Thor’s greatest adversaries can be seen as a statue outside of Grandmaster’s arena, suggesting that he was one of the Grandmaster’s greatest champions.
