It is still pretty common for advertisements to promise things like a younger look, with less wrinkles, and all imperfections being able to be covered up. Whilst the past few decades have not changed too much in this regard, the actual products themselves have certainly been improved.
This ad, released in 1890, promotes this painful looking “Chin Reducer and Beautifier.” We can say with almost complete certainty that no one would be interested in a product like this today, no matter how many double chins it claims to reduce.
