[post_page_title]Looking into the past[/post_page_title]
Another post, another random fossil discovered by chance! This person randomly found what appeared to be a fossil after this rock was broken, and they were understandably pretty surprised. They went to the Internet with it, and they were immediately told what it was. It was confirmed that it was a fossil, but likely of a plant rather than of some kind of ancient animal.
The expert that responded thought that it was a piece of a horsetail calamites, a type of ancient tree. The fossil that we see is just part of the inside of the stem.
