We have no idea how someone managed to figure out what this thing is. We’re seriously impressed. If we were tasked with solving this one, we would probably guess that it was some obscure garden tool and call it a day. But that would be pretty far off from reality.
Apparently this is called a “carpet stretcher,” which we assume means it is used for installing carpet into a home. The cup on the opposite side of the spikes was used to hold tacks in place, although we don’t really get how that works.
