Most of the posts that are made on Reddit where someone needs something identified are mainly posted just for fun. They have a weird object, and they need to have their curiosity satisfied. But this picture served a more important purpose. The car in this photo was the victim of a hit and run, and the piece left behind was from the other car.
If they could identify it, they would have a better chance of finding the driver in question. Almost immediately, someone responded that it was probably a 2005 Grand Jeep Cherokee. How specific!
