Even though this one isn’t all that terrifying, we’d still be pretty unnerved if we discovered it in the way that the original poster did. They were at work and opened up a box in the earth and found this growing in there.
You typically don’t want to find anything living when you open up a box in the ground. The weirdest part? This whole thing had been growing in the pitch black darkness. It was identified as a field horsetail that was covered in some type of fungus that was growing on it.
