Usually when you go fishing, you expect to catch fish. That’s a pretty simple, uncontroversial statement, we think. If you’re good, you might just happen to catch a shark or something. But the last thing you expect to pull up once you’ve gotten a bite is, well, this thing. Whatever it is.
A confused fisherman posted this picture and was told that this was actually a feather star. It’s technically called a crinoid, and it’s pretty similar to a starfish. It looks decidedly more creepy than a friendly starfish though. Toss that thing back in before it gets ya!
