As with humans, cats are creatures of habit. While not all cats are the same in this regard, as with humans, it’s obvious that whatever cat made the imprints on that carpet, likes to walk in a certain path every single day.
Perhaps the cat doesn’t even realize that it’s walking in the same path on that carpet, or maybe it finds the indents more comfortable on its paws. No one is ever really going to know unless we can get a one-on-one interview with the cat. We might have to try to set that up.
