Not all history is endearing, in fact most of it is not, and though this shot is really cool, the backstory for it is not so much. Basically, what you’re looking at is a World War I trench, and we don’t have to provide the details of what probably transpired in it.
The crazy part is that all those years later, the battlefield looks like this from an aerial point-of-view. Mother Nature must know that the entire thing is symbolic, so maybe that’s why it looks like it does.
