Ditching 2016 for Marvel’s present day, Black Widow’s post-credits scene has Yelena visiting Natasha’s gravesite. The poignantly beautiful moment is abruptly interrupted by Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who first appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The two seem to have a prior association, as Valentina sends Yelena after the man who supposedly killed her sister – Hawkeye. This’ll lead right into Hawkeye’s upcoming Disney+ show, in which Florence Pugh will appear. It also gave us a bizarro-Nick Fury vibe, with Valentina recruiting – on behalf of some still-unknown higher power – U.S. Agent and Yelena, for what might be the MCU’s Thunderbolts or Dark Avengers.
