Sometimes it’s better to tell a client “no” or refer them to someone else if what they’re requesting isn’t reasonable. A perm is a chemical process that can break off hair and burn the scalp when done under the wrong circumstances, so it’s better to tell someone the truth rather than perform the request.
When dealing with chemicals, there’s risk involved. And if the risk for adverse reactions is greater than usual, the client should be aware. This scenario is definitely over a hairstyling student’s head.
