One look at this water heater should tell you that it’s definitely surpassed being useful. Years of service has led to it becoming a little decrepit, with the top rusting away quite severely. We hope it wasn’t in this condition while the homeowner was still using it, because that probably wouldn’t have done them any good.
Maybe it was the heater going this way that convinced them to remove it and change it out for another one. After all, you don’t really want to be relying on something this damaged.
