Celebrities in the 90s would often show up to red carpet events wearing gloves with their gowns. These days, that sort of accessory would be considered almost too formal for most red carpets.
Even at the more formal events, like the Oscars or Grammys, celebrities often choose to wear valuable jewelry, like a statement diamond bracelet, to complete their look. Back in the 90s, however, gloves were a common accessory worn by most, even at the less formal events.
