Hair in the 90s was all about getting that texture, whether it was with braids, or waves, or crispy curls. Having soft hair to touch was not anyways concern – it was all about having that Instant Ramen Noodle look.
Some celebrities, like Cameron Diaz, were known for hitting the crimping iron hard to achieve this crispy texture, whilst others like Christina Aguilera, pictured over here, would fluff up their curls before setting them with shellac.
