Updos are generally regarded as being more conservative, and perhaps a little boring, of a hairstyle. Well, in the 90s, they discovered a way to make this look a little more exciting.
Instead of tucking the ends of the hair into the updo with bobby pins, they would just leave them out like little, spiky, broom bristles. With hair poking out in all different directions, this certainly was more exciting – you just didn’t know where to look first.
