A popular addition to skirts and pants in the 90s was a studded belt. Whilst belts are, technically, a practical accessory, this decade’s interpretation of the belt was pretty distracting from the functionality of it.
Belts in the 90s were covered in jewels and shiny studs, that they were a fashion statement in and of themselves. Today, belts are still being worn but with more subtle details, like a large buckle, so that they are more of a supporting accessory to the outfit, rather than taking over.
