Who can forget that iconic moment that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake stepped onto the red carpet wearing matching, distressed denim outfits? Not only did this look pretty much define 90s fashion, it also showed us what overdoing a trend looks like.
Whilst distressed denim never really went out of style, the extreme version of it that was prevalent in the 90s is definitely outdated. These days, subtlety is key when it comes to double denim, which is certainly a lot more tasteful.
