The shell suit was worn by everyone in the 90s, from English footballing legend Gazza to Will Smith. It was a way of pretending to be just vaguely sporty, and owning a few shell suits in a variety of lurid shades seemed to almost be the law.
They may have been extremely comfortable, but these shell suits are, in our opinion, probably the most shapeless and flammable item of clothing the fashion industry has ever seen.
