Hurricane Sandy caused lots of damage to the East coast of the United States. A particular area that was struck with harsh weather conditions was the oceanside areas of North Carolina. This photograph shows the damage caused to the roads in a beachside area of the state and how far the water came up.
The ravaged road cracked and rose in certain areas, leaving road conditions far too treacherous for cars. This skateboarder made light of the situation, using the water-morphed terrain as an impromptu skatepark.
