Years ago, it was common for actors to play characters who were nowhere near their real ages. We often had fully-grown adults portraying teenagers, and younger people also would portray members of the elderly community.
Whitman Mayo was one such actor, as his character Grady Wilson was much older than him in the popular 1970s sitcom ‘Sanford and Son.’ The actor was in his 40s when he portrayed Grady, although thankfully, the aging process seemed to stop there for the actor whose appearance didn’t change much into his 60s.
