Occupants of a castle needed to have all the essentials handy for them to survive. From food to water to really any other items you can think of, castles needed to have them on hand.
The area that you’d find these items was the storeroom. While stuff of this nature was used in the day-to-day operations of castles, it would also come in handy when a castle was under siege. The storeroom was always the place to go if food and water (or anything else) were needed.
