[post_page_title]Soldiers having a good time[/post_page_title]
Just the black and white nature of this photo goes to show how old it really is. It’s all the way back in 1914, and it’s a shot of German, French, and British soldiers during the Christmas Truce having a good time in no man’s land.
Now, there’s a lot to dissect with this shot. For one, no man’s land was not a place of rejoicing during World War I (as the name describes its nature). Secondly, the reason the soldiers were interacting with one another was that an unofficial ceasefire was called.
