It’s actually amazing the quality of some of these old photos, and this one probably takes the cake. Back in 1948, it was decided to perform some renovations to the White House, as in $5.7 million worth.
Clearly, the project wasn’t completed during this photo, as it was just getting started. Still, it’s fascinating to see the inside of the White House looking like this as when you see modern photos of the famous building, this ends up paling in comparison.
