You know what this looks like? It looks like the early years of Black Friday. The reality is what you’re looking at is a group of children in a frenzy to finally get some candy.
The reason they were in a frenzy is during World War II, items were rationed, and sugar was one of them in England. In 1953, when candy was back to being freely available in England, this was the result. We can only imagine going as long as those children did without sugar or candy.
