Much of Shrek 2 takes place in Fiona’s hometown the Kingdom Of Far Far Away. When Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey are traveling there and approaching the kingdom, we see this sign in the distance.
The font, the way the letters are positioned, the fact that they’re on a hill…It’s clearly a reference to the famous Hollywood sign. This sign has become synonymous with the American movie industry, and can be seen in countless movies. But this is the first time it’s more subtly referenced in an animated movie.
