[post_page_title]How the story is actually about real world issues[/post_page_title]
Shrek does much more than take classic fairytales and twist them into something darker, funnier, or just more modern. It also tackles real world problems, through the challenges Shrek faces being an ogre.
Shrek belongs to a minority the majority society looks down on, he is poor, and is mercilessly judged and even ostracized because of his appearance. Then when he falls in love with Fiona, her father can’t accept that his daughter is with someone from a different race…We don’t have to go very far to find plenty of people in the world who get treated just like Shrek.
