The Shrek universe is basically a mishmash of all the classic fairytales we know and love, but with plenty of twists sprinkled in. So there are many references to the classics throughout all four movies.
In the second movie, we see that Shrek and Fiona stay in this cute gingerbread house during their honeymoon. It’s called Hansel’s Honeymoon Hideaway, and is clearly the witch’s house from Hansel And Gretel. Later on as the Fairy Godmother goes through her fairytales, she again mentions Hansel And Gretel (along with many more classics.)
