People in America like a good deal. So, restaurants try to lure customers in by creating large portions sizes. Americans will pay a dollar or two more for something if it’s “super-sized.”
Whether or not they should actually consume something larger than their head is another question, but if it’s a bargain it will be bought. Why settle for a puny little cup of soda when you can have something ten times the size for a half dollar more?
