On April 6th, Ellen made a remark on her show, comparing her time self-isolating in her mansion in California to be akin to being in prison.
She shared this clip on her Twitter account, although Twitter users were unimpressed, saying that this was a really insensitive remark to make, especially due to inmates at this time having higher exposure and risk of contracting coronavirus. Some people pointed out that Ellen was far from being in a similar situation to prisoners, isolating in her mansion.
