Michael must have realized, on some level, people wouldn’t let his unnecessary rudeness towards a young star just slide. And Ariana didn’t even have to stoop to his level and engage him herself, her millions of loyal fans happily did it for her.
She never said a word to Michael, or even acknowledged his insults. But a few days after fans had told Michael off for dragging their favorite star, she tweeted thanking them for being “such beautiful friends”. So she was clearly thankful they defended her.
