[post_page_title]Benedict Cumberbatch – Khan (Star Trek Into Darkness)[/post_page_title]
Star Trek: The Original Series’ 1967 episode Space Seed was the first original series episode to go on public sale, in 1982, when it was sold on a VHS cassette. The reason why was clear – it was the first appearance of iconic villain Khan Noonien Singh, who’d return for 1982’s Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
A genetically engineered human from Earth’s past, Khan was characterized as a Sikh from northern India, and was portrayed by Mexican-American Ricardo Montalban. In 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness, however, the world’s most English man Benedict Cumberbatch took over, leaving any trace of Khan’s ethnicity behind.
