[post_page_title]Sean Connery – Raisuli (The Wind and the Lion)[/post_page_title]
We’d watch the late, great Sean Connery read the phone book, but it would be ridiculous if he did it as anything other than who he was – the most Scottish person ever. That’s not the route 1975’s The Wind and the Lion took. Very loosely based on a true story, it gave us an even looser portrayal of a real-life Moroccan Robin Hood figure.
That sounds great, except that Mulai Ahmed er Raisuni was played by Sean Connery. Even putting aside casting a white man to play a member of North Africa’s indigenous people, having that white man be Sean Connery was just silly.
