[post_page_title]Multiple actors – multiple characters (Gods of Egypt)[/post_page_title]
While it’s probably true that the deities populating 2016 action-adventure Gods of Egypt don’t exist, they were still all part of a very specific pantheon – that of Ancient Egypt. While still awkward, we could almost excuse casting actors like the Danish Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the Scottish Gerard Butler, and two white Australian models to portray them.
When you notice that the mortal characters in the movie are ALSO played by white actors is when things get a little dicey. Director Alex Proyas said that while his casting choices should’ve been more diverse, “the process of casting a movie has many complicated variables.”
