It’s widely regarded as one of the worst movies of all-time, partly because multiple members of its cast and crew may have been afflicted with cancer as a result of filming near nuclear test sites. Putting that grim fact aside, however, we’re left with an epic drama about Mongol warlord Genghis Khan.
While it’s often claimed that one out of every 200 men worldwide descends from Khan, we’re pretty sure Western star John Wayne isn’t one of them. Having The Duke play a Mongolian conqueror, complete with little mustache, wasn’t just offensive – it was bizarre, and the complete lack of any Asian actors didn’t help.
