[post_page_title]Multiple actors – multiple characters (21)[/post_page_title]
This might be the worst case of Hollywood whitewashing ever. Dragonball and Last Airbender may have poured bleach on their characters, but at least they were all fictional creations. In 21, the movie about MIT students who use advanced card counting techniques to swindle casinos, it was worse. Why worse?
Because it was actually based on a true story – and almost all of the people in it were Asian-Americans! The two leads, Jim Sturgess and Kate Bosworth, were both white, as was most of the supporting cast. In fact, 21 only had two Asian-American actors – and they were both relegated to minor one-note characters.
