[post_page_title]Johnny Crawford – The Rifleman[/post_page_title]
It’s amazing just how much pressure child actors often face. Take Johnny Crawford, for example. He was only twelve years old when he was cast to play the identity of Lucas McCain on the ABC Western series The Rifleman. What’s more, the role even earned him an Emmy nomination.
The show ended in 1963 and Crawford continued making guest appearances in several films. Interestingly, his major passion was dancing, so Crawford founded his own band, the Johnny Crawford Dance Orchestra. We think that’s pretty unique, considering the career path most child actors choose.
