Mackenzie Phillips was only twelve years old when she made her acting debut, being cast in the 1973 movie American Graffiti. However, she became a household name after being cast to play the rebellious but ultimately loving teenager daughter, Julia Mora Cooper Horvath on One Day at a Time.
While her personal life has often been the source of controversy, she has had a prolific acting career and has appeared in several films, most recently as Barbara Denning on Orange is the New Black.
