There are a lot of subtle differences between cultures on either side of the pond. Despite the shared historical heritage, Yanks and Brits are different in many ways, and one of them is knowing a baby’s gender before it’s born. Huge, over-the-top gender reveal parties are entirely an American thing, for instance.
In Britain, many parents don’t even learn the baby’s gender themselves – and that extends to the Royal Family. Even if royals learn the gender, it’ll never be revealed publicly until after the birth. That’s always been the case… until Meghan Markle told Oprah on TV that she and Harry’s second child will be a girl.
