Although it was reported that Meghan wanted to have a home birth, she knew that she had to put other measures in place. Because of her age, she was technically classed as a “geriatric mother.” This meant that the risk of complications was even higher than normal, and she knew that she needed to have a second alternative.
If she couldn’t have a home birth, she wanted to be in a hospital that she felt comfortable in. It was reported that she had one particular hospital in mind, and had her heart set on Frimley Park hospital in Surrey. This would have been a shock move for the Duchess, considering this was a public hospital and would not have cost her a cent.
