Both Princess Diana and Duchess Kate have taken iconic photos on the steps of the Lindo Wing when leaving the hospital with their children after giving birth.
After Diana started the tradition, it has almost become expected for those who follow, hence why Kate did so as well. People were not surprised, but also not thrilled, that Meghan did not take their lead by giving birth there and posing for a photo. Meghan did not feel the need to get dolled up and preferred to opt out.
