[post_page_title]Foreshadowing newspaper headlines[/post_page_title]
Throughout Inside Out, Anger and some other emotions are often reading the newspaper. The headlines are used to describe what’s currently happening, or give clever hints about the plot and Riley’s emotional state.
Some are very obvious, such as the one saying “the future is shaky” right when Riley is moving to her new home in San Francisco and the emotions are talking about earthquakes. Others you have to be more eagle-eyed to spot. For example, in smaller letters on the backside of the newspaper Disgust is holding it says “why does everything smell funny?”. This is foreshadowing what will happen when Riley enters the new home, and Disgust thinks it smells weird.
