Much of Inside Out takes place in the whimsical and colorful world of Riley’s brain, where her emotions live, and in the brains of other characters. But it’s also one of the first Pixar movies that’s situated in a real and famous city – San Francisco.
The animators definitely did their research here, and made sure all the streets and landmarks depicted exist in real life. Just check out these two examples. Down to the smallest detail, the animations are exact replicas of the real locations.
