No, this isn’t just a funny scene when Riley is horrified to discover the only topping offered at her new local pizza joint is broccoli. Broccoli pizza really is a thing in San Francisco. So much so that you can easily find lists online with the “top 10 best broccoli pizzas in San Francisco”.
Pizzeria Delfina tops the lists, and it actually looks pretty good. Definitely better than the one Riley and her mom buy, when Riley’s Anger bursts out the classic line “Congratulations San Francisco, you’ve ruined pizza!”.
