We were puzzled when this woman said she wasn’t “dressed for the occasion” when she met her then-boyfriend’s mother, until we understood the real problem was that she wasn’t dressed at all.
We couldn’t imagine a more mortifying way of being introduced to a boyfriend’s parent, until, of course, she added that the mother also happened to be one of her bosses. We know the relationship with the boyfriend didn’t last, but we wonder what happened to her job.
