Different cultures observe different rules for table manners, but the fact that standards are not the same everywhere doesn’t stop some people from taking their practices very, very seriously.
This person points out that they were once at their girlfriend’s house, and they put their elbows on the table. The mother was apparently deeply offended by the gesture, because she didn’t hold back from yelling at the guest. An embarrassing situation, but it makes for a funny story, in hindsight.
