Avengers: Endgame will go down in history as the culmination to a 22-movie cinematic saga, a nearly three-billion-dollar hit, and… the movie that brought Robert Redford out of retirement. During the movie’s time heist sequence, the Avengers go back to different points to gather up the Infinity Stones.
One stop is in New York circa 2012, and sees our heroes bumping into head of the World Security Council Alexander Pierce. Last seen in Captain America: Winter Soldier, Pierce was played by the legendary Redford, who said in a prior interview that he was retiring from acting, unless “something came along and was really powerful.” Well, we guess it didn’t get any more powerful than Endgame!
