Even though it’s the MCU’s red-headed stepchild, The Incredible Hulk still knew how to pay homage to the greats who paved the way – but you really had to be on your game to catch it. Most viewers probably noticed bodybuilder-turned-actor Lou Ferrigno, who played the Hulk on the 1970s TV show, appearing as the security guard Edward Norton’s Bruce Banner bribes with a pizza.
But you probably didn’t notice Ferrigno’s counterpart, Bill Bixby, who played ’70s live-action Banner. While he passed away prematurely in 1993, he’s still in the movie. Specifically, Banner watches sitcom The Courtship of Eddie’s Father, which just so happens to have starred Bixby…
