An MCU original, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent (and later director) Phil Coulson is one of Marvel’s most beloved – and important – original characters. He also boasts the dubious honor of kicking the bucket twice – first in The Avengers, where his demise became a rallying cry to bring the team together, and then in ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Clark Gregg appeared as Coulson in four MCU movies and thought he was pretty much exiled to TV when he was brought back for a couple of minutes in Captain Marvel. Set in 1995, Gregg was de-aged using hair, make-up, and some CGI.
