The tale of Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers’s love story is a sad one, with Rogers being trapped in ice for decades. The two nevertheless have a chance to reunite one final time in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Cap visiting the elderly Peggy’s bedside.
Though unrecognizable, Peggy is once again played by Hayley Atwell. Marvel tried prosthetics first, but when that didn’t work well enough Atwell wore a grey wig and motion capture dots on her face. An older actor later sat in for the scene and they tracked her skin’s texture onto Atwell’s face.
