In one Iron Man 2 scene, Tony’s shepherded along by “Happy” Hogan through a very crowded party. The scene is actually a hub for several cameos, not least of which is Stan Lee either mistaken for or as the actual Larry King. Anyway, for a split-second, Tony bumps into Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, whom he calls the “oracle of Oracle.”
Why’s the cameo so cool? Because Robert Downey Jr. admitted that one of his inspirations while crafting Tony’s character was none other than Ellison, bringing everything full circle with the real-life billionaire meekly asking Tony to call him.
